CHRIS While Is one of the most respected and accomplished Singer Songwriters in Britain today. She along with many of her peers, when asked to state the most major influence on her musically, always replies without reservation, Joni Mitchell There simply are not many people that could even sing these songs let alone do justice to them, Chris While does these things beautifully and seemingly effortlessly! On acoustic and electric guitars, dulcimer, percussion and fabulous vocals.
JULIE Matthews Was advised at fourteen to go and buy 'Tapestry' by her music teacher, Mr Hill. It went on to become her bible throughout those formative musical years and stood her in good stead for her five hour long sets in piano bars during her early twenties. With her fabulous piano style and powerful vocals, she breathes new life into these wonderful songs once again on the British live music scene.
BLUE Tapestry

Celebrating the music of Carole King and Joni Mitchell
Chris While * Julie Matthews * Pete Zorn * Maartin Allcock * Neil Marshall

I Feel the Earth Move * Free Man in Paris * It's Too Late * Carey * You've Got A Friend * Big Yellow Taxi * Up on The Roof * Help Me * Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow * Raised on Robbery .... the list is breathtaking

For the last ten years however, Carole and Joni songs have been limited to Chris and Julie's soundchecks and at Party's as the duo established themselves as Songwriters in their own rights. In 2001 the idea was hatched to form a band that would pay tribute to Chris and Julie's two main
heroes - it would also be a great excuse to play these wonderful songs again live and to have a lot of fun with three tremendous musicians. And so...............

BLUE Tapestry was born with the help of Maartin Allcock, Pete Zorn, and Neil Marshall.
It's remarkable since we first announced the idea, just how many people out there LOVE Joni and
CK. It seems Blue and Tapestry sit in more record collections than we could have imagined and
everyone has great memories of the era in which both albums came out. Isn't that the beauty of
music? It can take you back instantly to a time and a place that otherwise might have remained
dormant. Besides that, these are great songs and the proof is always in the test of time and the
rediscovery by Artists thirty years on - You've got a Friend, I Feel the Earth Move, Natural Woman, Carey, Big Yellow Taxi have all been covered in the last few years.
PETE Zorn has a track record to rival that of any thoroughbred racehorse! From Phoenix, Arizona he has played with the likes of Richard Thompson, Gerry Rafferty, and Barbara Dickson and is currently a member of the latest Albion Band incarnation. Pete also played on Chris's solo album, 'In the Big Room' and went on to be a member of the band that toured with her. There's no end really to Pete's musical talents as he plays just about most instruments but for Blue Tapestry we will likely be seeing him play Bass, Sax, Percussion and Backing Vocals.
MAARTIN Allcock Likewise, Maart's CV is an illustrious one. A former member of both Jethro Tull and Fairport Convention, he has never stopped working and is rapidly becoming the most 'seen' musician on the scene, playing with among others, John Wright and Keiron Halpin. I don't think there is a Joni Mitchell chord that's ever been
strummed that Maart doesn't know and he is a long-term fan of both JM and CK. Besides being a keyboard whiz - Maart is also one of the country's foremost Fretless Bassists. For Blue Tapestry, he will be the principal lead guitarist (though who knows what might happen!)

Neil Marshall Chris and Julie's association with Neil over the years has been a long, happy and incredibly fruitful one.
He is one of the finest drummers living in the UK and they feel so lucky to have had him play on three of their duo albums. Neil's style crosses many boundaries as you can find him playing in bands playing Jazz/Fusion, Latin American and Folk Rock. Neil has been a member of the Albion Band for a number of years now, expanding his profile and earning him the finest of reputations.

"I was down at the front and the atmosphere was absolutely electric - I was
told that this phenomenon extended right back up the hill, which is no mean
feat! Your interpretation and performance of these wonderful songs was a
delight to behold"
